CASAPPA KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D is a KAPPA 20 cast-iron external gear double pump: two gear sections running on one drive shaft inside a single cast-iron body-and-mounting-flange assembly. The front section is KP 20•16 with a geometric displacement of 16.85 cm³/rev (1.03 in³/rev); the rear section is KP 20•14 with 14.53 cm³/rev (0.89 in³/rev), giving 31.38 cm³/rev (1.92 in³/rev) in total and up to 94.1 l/min of combined theoretical flow at 3,000 r/min. Both sections work on the side of the unit through gas straight-thread (BSPP) ports — inlet GE, G 3/4 tapped 22 mm deep, and outlet GD, G 1/2 tapped 20 mm deep. The unit turns clockwise (D) looking at the drive shaft and runs from 350 to 3,000 r/min, with each section rated 260 bar (3,770 psi) for KP 20•16 and 265 bar (3,843 psi) for KP 20•14 continuous, 290 bar (4,205 psi) intermittent and 320 bar (4,640 psi) peak. Working pressure of the assembly is set by the transmissible torque of the drive shaft and of the connecting shaft between the two sections, so the pump delivers two independent flows from one mounting, one drive coupling and one pipework set — fewer hoses, fewer brackets and a shorter driveline than two separate pumps, in the solid, compact two-piece cast-iron construction the KAPPA range is specified for.
| CASAPPA KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D Applications
Two sections on one shaft let a single pump feed two separate circuits with different flow demands, which is why the unit is specified where a machine needs a working function and a steering or auxiliary function at the same time. It is used on building and construction equipment, material handling machinery, forestry machines and fan drives, and across the wider KAPPA application range on agricultural implements, cranes, winches, mixers, presses and machine tools — converting drive-shaft rotation into pressurised flow for cylinders, motors and valve blocks, and holding that flow under sustained load, high duty cycles and demanding ambient conditions. Gas straight-thread ports take standard BSPP fittings, and the European standard mounting and 1:8 tapered drive shaft let the unit be fitted to existing machinery without modifying the driveline, the mounting or the pipework.

| Overview of CASAPPA KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D
CASAPPA KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D is a KAPPA 20 external gear double pump. Casappa builds the KAPPA range around a body and a mounting flange in cast iron of superior mechanical specification, and the KAPPA 20 is the group 2 size of that range — a solid, compact two-piece construction that packs several functions into a reduced space. Inside, each section carries an external gear pair on sleeve bearings between pressure-balanced thrust plates, so the assembly stays rigid and keeps its volumetric efficiency as pressure rises and as the unit wears.
The two sections are stacked on a common drive shaft: the front section KP 20•16 is the one at the drive-shaft end, and the smaller KP 20•14 section follows at the rear, so the section with the greater power requirement drives directly from the shaft, as the multiple-pump design requires. Each section has its own inlet and outlet: gas straight-thread ports on the side of the unit, inlet GE (G 3/4 × 22 mm deep) and outlet GD (G 1/2 × 20 mm deep). The rated performance of each section is that of the corresponding single pump — 260 bar continuous, 290 bar intermittent and 320 bar peak for KP 20•16; 265 / 290 / 320 bar for KP 20•14 — while the pressure the assembly may actually work at is limited by the torque the drive and connecting shafts can transmit.
Its function in a circuit is to draw oil from the reservoir and convert drive-shaft rotation into two pressurised flows at the same time. With 16.85 + 14.53 cm³/rev, the assembly moves 94.1 l/min in total at its 3,000 r/min maximum speed, and both outlet flows scale with shaft speed, so one pump covers two circuits without a second driveline, a second mounting bracket or a second set of hoses.

The Casappa KAPPA 20 multiple-pump ordering code builds the assembly section by section: the front pump carries its own ports position and ports IN/OUT, each following section carries its own, and the rotation and the seal set close the string. Two design rules govern the assembly — the section with the greater power requirement must be at the drive-shaft end, with progressively smaller sections to the rear; and, for a double pump, the intermediate section is omitted.

| Assembly rules that apply to this unit:
Section order. The section with the greater power requirement sits at the drive-shaft end, progressively smaller to the rear — which is how this assembly is built, KP 20•16 in front and KP 20•14 behind it.
Speed. The maximum rotational speed of the assembly is the lowest rated speed of the single units incorporated, so this double pump stops at 3,000 r/min, set by the KP 20•16 section (KP 20•14 alone would run to 3,500 r/min). At the bottom of the range the assembly is bounded by the more demanding section, so the 350 r/min minimum of KP 20•14 applies even though the KP 20•16 section alone is rated down to 300 r/min.
Pressure. Both sections keep the pressure ratings of the corresponding single pumps, but the working pressure of the assembly must be limited by the transmissible torque of the drive shaft — 140 Nm (1,239 lbf in) for the European tapered 1:8 shaft code 82 — and of the connecting shaft between KAPPA 20 sections, which transmits up to 110 Nm (974 lbf in) per stage.
Absorbed torque. The torque drawn from the front shaft is the sum of the torques of both stages. Using the published formula Mtheor. = Δp (bar) × V (cm³/rev) ÷ 62.83 with ηhm ≈ 0.90: at 250 bar the KP 20•16 section absorbs 74.5 Nm (659 lbf in) and at 200 bar the KP 20•14 section absorbs 51.4 Nm (455 lbf in), so the front shaft carries 125.9 Nm (1,114 lbf in) — inside the 140 Nm (1,239 lbf in) rating of the shaft, with each stage inside the 110 Nm (974 lbf in) connecting-shaft limit.

5. Advantages of CASAPPA KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D
Two independent flows from one pump. The KP 20•16 and KP 20•14 sections work on a common drive shaft, so 16.85 + 14.53 cm³/rev — 94.1 l/min in total at 3,000 r/min — is delivered to two circuits from one mounting, one drive coupling and one pipework set.
Cast-iron body and mounting flange. The KAPPA range is built around a body and a mounting flange in cast iron of superior mechanical specification, and the rigidity of that assembly is what holds reliability and high volumetric efficiency at high operating pressures.
High operating pressures. Up to 260 / 265 bar continuous, 290 bar intermittent and 320 bar peak per section, with the assembly limited only by the torque the drive and connecting shafts can transmit.
Direct drive to the loaded section. The larger KP 20•16 section is placed at the drive-shaft end and the smaller KP 20•14 behind it, which is the arrangement the multiple-pump design calls for and the one that keeps the connecting shaft inside its 110 Nm limit.
Solid, compact two-piece construction. Two functions are stacked into a reduced envelope, which matters where the pump has to fit inside an existing housing or a tight driveline.
Low noise emission. The external gear design keeps running noise low, which is a requirement on fan drives, municipal machinery and equipment working close to the operator.
Exceptional working life expectancy. Pressure-balanced thrust plates compensate for wear, so the pump keeps its flow as the unit ages.
High efficiency at high temperature. As the circuit oil heats up and the film thins, the cast-iron structure limits the loss of volumetric efficiency — the property Casappa specifies the KAPPA range for.
Standard threaded interface. The G 3/4 and G 1/2 gas straight-thread ports take standard BSPP fittings, and the European standard flange and 1:8 tapered drive shaft match the mounting and the coupling European mobile machinery is already built for.
Wide combination choice across the family. More than 20 size pairings can be ordered between KP 20•4 and KP 20•31,5, with European or SAE mounting flanges, nine drive shafts, side or rear port positions and threaded, split-flange or flange-port connections.
Suited where fluids and size are critical. KAPPA is the range Casappa positions for applications where noise, contamination, non-flammable fluids and envelope size are the deciding factors.

Industrial hydraulics — presses, mixers, machine tools and plastic injection moulding machines needing two flows from one drive
Special vehicles — municipal vehicles, cleaning vehicles and truck-mounted equipment
In these machines the pump feeds two loads that run continuously at moderate circuit pressure, and is expected to hold flow under sustained load, high duty cycles and demanding ambient conditions. The cast-iron body, the sleeve-bearing gear pairs and the pressure-balanced thrust plates are what let the unit keep its volumetric efficiency as circuit pressure and oil temperature rise.

A hydraulic specialist, not a general trader. Quanzhou Hengyuhang Power Technology Co., Ltd. is based in Fujian, China and manufactures hydraulic gear pumps and motors, synchronous motors, multiple pump units, pumps with built-in valves and custom valve blocks.
One-piece minimum order. MOQ is one unit, so a single machine can be put back into service without committing to a production batch.
Model-level verification before you order. Send the complete original order number — for this page, the full KP20.16-LGE/GD/20.14-LGE/GD D string — and the configuration is checked against Casappa's KAPPA 20 dimension, flange, shaft and port data, including the section order and the connecting-shaft torque limit, before the unit is built.
In-house production and testing. CNC machining centres, automatic gear heat-treatment lines, single-piece-flow assembly and an automatic hydraulic test bench, with ERP/MES traceability through production.
Replacement coverage across the range. The same plant supplies replacement units for a wide list of hydraulic brands and models, which keeps a mixed machine fleet on one supplier.
Customization support. OEM, ODM and OBM are offered, and customized packaging, graphics, nameplate and logo are available for distributor orders.
One-year warranty. Every unit is covered by a one-year warranty.
Responsive after-sales. Online support for installation and application questions.
