CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34 is a KAPPA 30 cast-iron external gear double pump — two gear sections carried on one shaft line behind a single mounting flange, each section a KP 30•34 with a geometric displacement of 34.56 cm³/rev (2.11 in³/rev), for a combined displacement of 69.12 cm³/rev (4.22 in³/rev). Body and mounting flange are cast iron of superior mechanical specification, and every section carries a precision external gear pair on sleeve bearings between pressure-balanced thrust plates that compensate for wear and hold volumetric efficiency as pressure rises. Built in the Compact body design — front section KSL, rear section HSC — with the SAE "BB" 15-tooth spline drive shaft (code 05), the SAE "C" 4-hole mounting flange (code S6), side-positioned SAE straight thread (ODT) ports on the MF inlet and the OD outlet, and a common-inlet M5 body that feeds both sections from one suction line, it runs from 350 to 3,000 r/min, is rated 210 bar (3,045 psi) continuous, 230 bar (3,335 psi) system pressure and 250 bar (3,625 psi) peak, and delivers 207.36 l/min of oil at its 3,000 r/min ceiling — two matched circuits at the same displacement inside a compact cast-iron envelope, 46 mm (1.81 in) at the front section and 142 mm (5.59 in) overall with SAE ports, with low noise emission and the long working life the cast-iron KAPPA construction is specified for.
| CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34 Applications
The pump is engineered to feed two continuous-duty hydraulic circuits from a single drive point on mobile and industrial machinery. It is used on building and construction equipment — including loaders, backhoe loaders and compact machines — on material handling machinery, forestry machines and fan drives, and across the wider KAPPA application range on agricultural implements, cranes, winches, mixers, presses and machine tools: one section supplying pressurised flow for cylinders, motors and valve blocks while the second section feeds a separate circuit, such as steering, pilot, lubrication or cooling, from the same shaft. Sharing one inlet body means a single suction line serves both sections, and the SAE, European and ISO standard mounting flanges, drive shafts and ports let the unit be fitted to existing machinery without modifying the driveline, the mounting or the pipework.

| Overview of CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34
CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34 is a KAPPA 30 multiple pump — the double-pump variant of Casappa's cast-iron external gear range. Casappa builds the KAPPA range around a body and a mounting flange in cast iron of superior mechanical specification, and the KAPPA 30 is a solid, compact two-piece construction that allows several functions to be packed into a reduced space. Inside each section the external gear pair runs on sleeve bearings between pressure-balanced thrust plates, so the assembly stays rigid and keeps its volumetric efficiency as pressure rises and as the unit wears.
Its function in a circuit is to draw oil from the reservoir and convert drive-shaft rotation into pressurised flow — here twice over. Both sections are KP 30•34 at 34.56 cm³/rev (2.11 in³/rev), so the two outlets deliver the same flow at the same speed: 103.68 l/min each at 3,000 r/min, 207.36 l/min together. Each section is rated 210 bar continuous, 230 bar system pressure and 250 bar peak in the Compact KSL / HSC body design, and both are limited to 3,000 r/min maximum and 350 r/min minimum. This unit carries the SAE "C" 4-hole mounting flange (code S6), the SAE "BB" 15-tooth spline drive shaft (code 05) and side-positioned SAE straight thread (ODT) ports (position L) — an MF inlet and an OD outlet on a 3/4" - 1 1/16" - 12 UNF - 2B thread — with an M5 body that gives both sections a common suction. The same range can be ordered with European, SAE and ISO mounting flanges, nine drive-shaft options and threaded, split-flange or flanged ports, so one pump family covers a wide spread of existing installations.
Reading the code, position 1 names the front section, KP 30•34; position 2 is the drive shaft, 05 for the SAE "BB" spline; position 3 is the mounting flange, S6 for the SAE "C" 4-hole flange; position 4 is the ports position, L for inlet and outlet on the side; position 5 is the port pair in IN/OUT order, MF/OD, the SAE straight thread (ODT) pair; position 6 is M5, the body that combines the two KP 30 sections on a common inlet; position 7 is the body design of the front section, KSL for Compact. After the slash the rear section is written as 30.34 — the second KP 30•34, the same group, in the matching Compact HSC rear design. Positions 8 to 12 are not written, so the assembly takes the standard choices of the code: standard rotation, no outboard bearing, Buna NBR seals, the standard shaft seal and no painting.
The two sections are stacked front first, and because both are the same displacement the flow split between the two outlets is fixed at 50 / 50 at any speed. The torque absorbed at the drive shaft of a multiple pump is the sum of the torques due to all single stages, and the achieved value must not exceed the maximum torque limit given for the shaft of the first section: with both sections loaded to 210 bar the assembly draws 256.7 Nm (2,272 lbf in), and 305.6 Nm (2,705 lbf in) with both at 250 bar. Where those figures press against the rating of the drive or connecting shaft, the pressure of the assembly is the variable to work with, and special connecting shafts are available with torque up to 350 Nm (3,098 lbf in).
| Dimension of CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34
Reference dimensions for the KP 30•34 + KP 30•34 same-group double pump in the Compact KSL / HSC body design with side ports. The letters correspond to the dimensional drawing.
| Ref. | mm | in |
|---|---|---|
| A — KP 30•34 front section | 46 | 1.81 |
| B — overall length, European / split ports | 134 | 5.28 |
| B — overall length, gas / SAE ports | 142 | 5.59 |
This unit carries SAE ports, so the overall length is the 142 mm (5.59 in) figure. The other sizes of the same-group Compact family read: KP 30•22 A 38 mm / B 134 – 142 mm, KP 30•27 A 41 mm / B 134 – 142 mm, KP 30•31 A 43.5 mm / B 134 – 142 mm, KP 30•38 A 46 mm / B 134 – 142 mm — the same envelope, so a change of displacement inside the family does not change the mounting or the pipework.

| Pump Installation Specifications CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34
The Casappa KAPPA 30 multiple-pump ordering code is a 12-position string written once for each section: positions 1 to 7 identify the unit itself, positions 8 to 12 the rotation, the outboard bearing, the seals, the shaft-seal option and the painting of the assembly. Reading it is the fastest way to check that a pump will fit an existing installation.

Position 5 lists the port pair in IN/OUT order for pumps and in OUT/IN order for motors, and the inlet port of a pump is the larger of the two. On a multiple pump the sections are written one after the other, front section first, separated by a slash; where the sections share one suction, a single common-inlet body code covers the assembly and the inlet-port code is left out on the sections that carry only an outlet port. Position 6 is the only field that belongs to the assembly rather than to a single section, which is why it appears once in the string.

Three notes on this code. The 05 drive shaft is listed as an available combination on the S6 flange, whose standard combination is the 06 SAE "C" spline: both sit on the same flange face, so the flange code alone does not fix the coupling, and the shaft is a 15-tooth SAE "BB" involute. The KSL front body design belongs to the Compact family, which exists only for displacements 22 to 38 — 34.56 cm³/rev is inside that window, and the matching rear design in the same group is the Compact HSC. And the compact build is shorter than the standard build of the same displacement but is rated lower: 210 / 230 / 250 bar as against 250 / 270 / 290 bar for the CSC / CSL body design and 280 / 300 / 320 bar for the BSC / BSL design, so where the circuit pressure is the binding constraint the body design in position 7 is the field that decides the rating of the same gear set.

| Efficiency | calculated from the catalogue design formulas Q = Qtheor. × ηv, M = Mtheor. ÷ ηhm, ηt = ηv × ηhm; performance curves are published for each displacement |
| Torque and power are calculated on the design formulas of the range: M = Δp × V ÷ 62.83 ÷ ηhm and POUT = Δp × Q ÷ 600, with the hydraulic flow Q = V × n ÷ 1,000 × ηv, using the range's nominal efficiencies ηv = 0.98 and ηhm = 0.90 (ηt = 0.882). Torque values are the torque drawn at the drive shaft, so they are the figure to compare against the rating of the coupling. Because the two sections of this pump are the same displacement, the shaft torque is twice the torque of one section at the same pressure, and the combined displacement is the figure to use when totalling the flow of the two outlets. | |

The straight-thread (ODT) family of the KAPPA 30 range runs OA on a 3/8" drain port, OD on 3/4", OF on 1", OG on 1" 1/4 and OH on 1" 1/2. This unit carries the pair MF/OD: the outlet is the OD port on the 3/4" - 1 1/16" - 12 UNF - 2B thread tabulated above, and the inlet is the larger port of the pair, the suction that serves both sections. On this pump the inlet is the low-pressure side and the outlet the high-pressure side, so the inlet port is tightened to the low-pressure-side value and the outlet to 120 +10 Nm (1,062 ÷ 1,151 lbf in). For reversible rotation, only the tightening torque for the high-pressure-side port is used.

| Dimensions | see section 2. |
Both sections are KP 30•34, so at any speed the two outlets deliver equal flow — 103.68 l/min each at 3,000 r/min and 207.36 l/min together. On a machine that needs two circuits at the same flow, one pump and one drive coupling replace two separate pumps, two brackets and two shaft couplings.
The M5 body combines the two KP 30 sections on a common inlet, so the tank connection is made once, and the suction port is sized for the combined flow rather than duplicated.
The KSL / HSC Compact body design is available for displacements 22 to 38, and at 34.56 cm³/rev the assembly measures 46 mm (1.81 in) at the front section and 142 mm (5.59 in) overall with SAE ports — a shorter envelope than the standard CSC / CSL build of the same gear set, which matters where the pump has to sit inside an existing housing or a tight driveline.
The Compact build is rated 210 bar continuous, 230 bar system pressure and 250 bar peak; the standard CSC / CSL design of the same 34.56 cm³/rev gear set is rated 250 / 270 / 290 bar and the High performance BSC / BSL design 280 / 300 / 320 bar (4,060 / 4,350 / 4,640 psi), so the rating can be moved without changing the displacement or the interfaces.
Flange S6 conforms to SAE J744 — the SAE group C interface, with the standard two-hole pattern also available in position 3 (S8, or Q3 in the short type).
Shaft 05 is an external involute spline to SAE J498B, 16/32 pitch, 30°, flat root, side fit, class 1, carried on the S6 flange face and available across the displacements of the group apart from KP 30•22, KP 30•31 and KP 30•41.
The OD outlet is a 3/4" port on a 1 1/16" - 12 UNF - 2B thread, sealed with an O-ring on a straight thread, so the pipework is made up directly on the pump and the ports sit on the side (position L) where the access is on a mobile machine.
The KAPPA range is built around a body and a mounting flange in cast iron of superior mechanical specification, and the rigidity of that assembly is what holds reliability and high volumetric efficiency at high operating pressures.
The torque drawn at the drive shaft is the sum of the torques of both stages — 256.7 Nm (2,272 lbf in) with both sections at 210 bar, 305.6 Nm (2,705 lbf in) with both at 250 bar — and special connecting shafts are available with torque up to 350 Nm (3,098 lbf in), so a machine can be laid out against a known shaft figure instead of a rule of thumb.
The thrust plates compensate for wear, so each section keeps its flow as the unit ages instead of losing volumetric efficiency from day one.
Sleeve bearings and the external gear design keep running noise low and the service life long, which is a requirement on fan drives, municipal machinery and equipment working close to the operator.
As the circuit oil heats up and the film thins, the cast-iron structure limits the loss of volumetric efficiency — the property Casappa specifies the KAPPA range for.
Position 10 carries N Bz and V Bz variants in which the thrust plates are in bronze instead of the standard material, for duty cycles where the standard plate wear rate is the limiting factor.
KAPPA pumps can be ordered with integrated valve functions — anti-cavitation, maximum pressure relief, load-sensing and electric proportional — which removes external plumbing from the circuit.
European, SAE and ISO mounting flanges, nine drive shafts and threaded, split-flange or flanged ports let the same pump be matched to an existing driveline, mounting and pipework without a redesign.

Every size below is a valid position 1 in the KAPPA 30 ordering code, and every size can be built as a single pump or as a section of a multiple pump. Pressures are p1 / p2 / p3 for unidirectional pumps with side ports; reversible pumps are limited to a maximum of 250 bar, except the sizes whose rated value is lower. The matching gear-motor range is KM 30, with the same displacements — the two sizes are alternative position-1 entries of the same code. Above this range the heavy-duty two-piece cast-iron KAPPA 35 group continues the same construction from 63.88 cm³/rev up to 100.08 cm³/rev, for installations that need more flow.

7. Brand Replacement
HENGYUHANG supplies a replacement for the CASAPPA KAPPA 30 gear pump series, including the double pump KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34 and the rest of the KP 30 size range from KP 30•22 to KP 30•73. The replacement is built to the same group 3 dimensional envelope and the same international standard interfaces — European, SAE and ISO mounting flanges, the same drive-shaft families, and threaded, split-flange or flanged ports — so a machine originally fitted with a Casappa KAPPA 30 pump can be returned to service without modifying the driveline, the mounting or the pipework.
The unit is supplied against the part numbers 87362337, 85826148, 79933052, 85817699, 79914143 and 85826147.
Replacement units are supplied to the published interface and dimension data for the KAPPA 30 group. The ordering code of the original pump is the reference used to establish fitment, so please quote the complete original order number when enquiring.
8. Applications of CASAPPA KP30.34-05S6-LMF/OD-M5-KSL/30.34
Typical applications of the KAPPA 30 gear pump family:
Building and construction — supply pump on compact machines, loaders, backhoe loaders and excavators, roller and drum drives, auxiliary circuits
Material handling — lifting, tilting and positioning circuits on handling equipment, cranes and aerial platforms
Forestry — feed, conveyor, saw and attachment drives on forestry machinery
Fan drive — engine cooling fan drives and hydraulic fan circuits
Agriculture — supply and implement circuits on tractors, balers, harvesters, sprayers and seeders
Industrial hydraulics — presses, mixers, machine tools and plastic injection moulding machines
Special vehicles — municipal vehicles, cleaning vehicles and truck-mounted equipment
In these machines the two sections feed loads that run continuously at moderate circuit pressure, and are expected to hold flow under sustained load, high duty cycles and demanding ambient conditions. The cast-iron body, the sleeve-bearing gear pair and the pressure-balanced thrust plates are what let each section keep its volumetric efficiency as circuit pressure and oil temperature rise, and the common inlet keeps the tank connection to a single line.
